Association of Young Economists of Georgia has initiated and facilitated roundtable discussion in Kakheti of the newly established active Civil Advisory Board of the Gurjaani Municipality and Rustavi. The members of the CAB of Gurjaani were provided with the opportunity to meet and share the experience of the Rustavi CAB.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the challenges that the CABs face and to share two year work experience of the Rustavi CAB, which encompasses around 20 issues initiated and considered by the City hall on the local level.

The roundtable discussion meeting, which was evaluated as timely, productive and very important by the both Civil Advisory Board members was implemented in the frames of the EU funded project “EMPOWERED CIVIL SOCIETY FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE”, which is implemented in partnership with the World Vision Georgia and Georgian Association of Social Workers. The project aims to promote establishment of increased social accountability and participatory policy-making mechanisms with a specific focus on local active civil society as a driving force.
