On the 17th of October 2015 and 24th of July 2 study tours were conducted in Imereti and Kakheti regions organized by the Association of Young Economists of Georgia.
The study tours aimed to demonstrate to the project beneficiaries the business process on-sight to share experience of the successful entrepreneurs. It took place in the demonstration farms representing the same sector as the beneficiaries. The participants were selected from the trainings project target regions.
It is important that the selection of the successful and demonstration agricultural cooperatives was implemented by the Agricultural Cooperatives Development Agency. In Kakheti region, Lagodekhi municipality, village Shroma was selected Agricultural Cooperative “Margi-L”, in Imereti region Vani municipality, village Dikhashkho – cooperative “Vashlara”.
In Imereti – 18 and in Kakheti – 16 participants took place in the study tours representing the established agricultural cooperatives in the scopes of the project. They had opportunity to see on-sight the business process interesting for them, also to receive information and advices for the development of their farms from the successful entrepreneurs in the field.
The visit turned out to be very interesting and productive for the participants and each lasted more than 2 hours. The heads of the cooperatives has talked not only about the agricultural issues, but also discussed the key challenges encountered in the cooperative management and the ways of overcoming the obstacles.
The study tours were conducted in the scopes of the project “Women as agents for change and empowerment”, which is being implemented by the Women Information Centre, by the USAID financial support, in partnership with Association of Young Economists of Georgia, “Taso” foundation, Institute for War and Peace Reporting and the local NGO from Gali.
