Introduction of the tax legislation

The aim of the project:

To support the introduction of the tax legislation in Georgia though raising awareness of entrepreneurs and public officials.

In the scopes of the project the guide – “Taxes and Taxation System” was developed (by the state of 2006). The active cooperation and discussion of the various opinion process was held with the representatives of the  Ministry of Economic Development and Tax department of the Ministry of Finances, while the preparation stage of the guide. The comments on the tax code were prepared in both Georgian-English languages. The trainings were conducted for the entrepreneurs, tax inspectors and judges in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Telavi. More than 200 entrepreneurs attended the trainings. The information campaign of the project was aiming awareness raising of the society, the information booklets were disseminated. It is significant, that the project attracted the great feedback among the media representatives. 

The key indicator measuring the project success can be considered the great interest among the entrepreneurs. The mentioned interest has resulted publishing the updated version of the “Taxes and Taxation System” guide in the scopes of the project. The second version of the guide was developed based on the normative acts of Georgia (by the state of the 1st March 2007).

More than 4000 beneficiaries received the free guide throughout Georgia.
