The aim of the project:
To assist the small scale entrepreneurs in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region in business development and receiving the business loans. The entrepreneurs were from the agricultural, trade and service sector.
At the starting phase of the project 20 information sessions were conducted in the communities in order to spread the information about the project objectives and business development services. The awareness raising PR campaign was held (posters, radio broadcasts, the news-paper articles etc.). The beneficiaries applied for the special training sessions, business consultations and business plan development services in more than 30 communities all over the region. The services were provided to the start-ups, also to the operating business entities. The significant attention was paid to the empowerment of the women entrepreneurs.
As a result 1200 persons received the different business services. 447 persons were provided with the skills-building training. 226 business plans have been developed mainly for the agriculture and service sectors. More than 30 % of beneficiaries received the business loans in the partner microfinance organization.
