The project is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Georgia.
The Association of Young Economists of Georgia (AYEG) has launched a new project aimed at supporting local self-governments in 43 municipalities across six regions of Georgia in the preparation of medium-term development plans.
Within the framework of the project, AYEG experts will work intensively with representatives of the target municipalities, introducing them to the methodology for developing an effective development plan.

- Incorporation of waste management and circular economy considerations into municipal development planning
By the end of 2016, medium-term development strategies will be created for 43 municipalities of Georgia. These strategies will serve as a foundation for local budget planning and projects implemented by the central government. Each development strategy will be prepared in alignment with the regional development strategy, addressing key issues outlined therein, which serve as the basis for the long-term sustainable development of the regions.
