The overall objective of the project is the reduction of rural poverty in Imereti and Racha. The project action targets semi-commercial small farmers as well as agribusiness and rural entrepreneurs in order to increase their productivity and income as members of business-oriented groups such as cooperatives and associations. Within the project, 23 agricultural cooperatives are established and funded, among them was cooperative “Imeruli”.
“We have learned about the project from Zestafoni Consultancy Center. The terms of the grant competition were very attractive so we decided to participate. In the framework of this project we started corn production and processing agribusiness, also we provide our member’s distribution service. Curranty our business employs 12 people, among them 6 women. Business grant was very helpful for our cooperative, without it, our cooperative won’t be so developed. I would like to advise future participants of this project to use this chance as this is the best way for the better future.”
