Participatory monitoring of the State Social Assistance Program

The aim of the project:

To develop sustainable monitoring scheme through facilitating joint state-civil society participatory monitoring of the State Social Assistance Program.

In the scopes of the project the panel survey of 25 families receiving social assistance in Samegrelo Region was conducted. As a result of the survey the impact of the social assistance aid on the life level of the families was evaluated. The quantitative survey of the 1100 families receiving the social assistance aid in Samegrelo Region was conducted, also 700 vulnerable families, named by the community, were researched.   

As a result of the surveys the data-base formation process was assessed, the procedure and qualitative problems were revealed regarding the implementation of the social assistance program. The regular meetings with the representatives of the Social Assistance and Employment Agency, Ministry of Labor, Healthcare and Social Welfare were conducted within the project frames.

At the end of the project, the report on the results and findings of the conducted surveys was developed and published. The report “Participatory monitoring of the State Social Assistance Program in Samegrelo region” presentation attracted the great feedback from the media, state structures and NGOs representatives.
